How to create a wallet

Please follow these steps in order to create a wallet via email;

Visit https://wallet.venly.io/
Press "Create Account"
Select the social of your choice
You will receive a code via email, enter this code when asked to provide it
Choose a PIN and enter it twice (Here's a link with more info on a PIN code)

(!) Make sure to write this PIN down! It's very important to be able to access your account. If you lose it you will need to request a recovery PIN and this can take a few days since it's a manual process for our security team.

You are logged in
Press the type of wallet you prefer (e.g. click the ethereum logo if you want an ethereum wallet)
Press "Create new wallet"
Enter your PIN from step 5
Voilà, a wallet has been created

I forgot my PIN

Accepted Answer

Our security team can provide a recovery pin so you can manage your wallet again. To receive one, please explicitly ask for a recovery pin in the support chat by completing this template;

| "I (your username) hereby as the owner of (your registered email), consent that I'm approving the recovery of my wallet's PIN codes by Venly's security team."

A recovery pin can take up to 48 hours since this is a manual process and this request is forwarded to our security team.

After you've received the recovery PIN, you can use it for any transaction that requires a PIN. However, it is strongly advised to change it to one of your own choosing. Your PIN can be changed per this guide.

How to find my wallet address and see my tokens

Login to your wallet

Select the blockchain and your wallet
The wallet address (or public key) can be seen in the right top corner of your screen, it can also be copied there by pressing the copy icon

How to change my PIN

To change your PIN follow these steps

Click the profile icon (right top corner)
Change Masterpin
Enter your newly requested PIN twice (The PIN you want to use in the future)
Enter your recovery PIN to confirm
Great success

Note: it is really important to keep this PIN safe and not lose it. Losing it means you won't be able to access your wallet until you receive a recovery PIN from the team. How to export a wallet?

To export your wallet

Select the wallet you want to export.
Go to advanced settings (Gear icon ⚙️, in the top right corner).
Scroll down to the section: Export Wallet
Choose a password to protect your export file (which is a password protected encrypted keystore)
Confirm the export with your PIN
Download as file

What is a PIN

Accepted Answer

A PIN is a 4-6 digit code you set to secure your wallet. You’ve set this PIN at the moment you created the wallet. Your personal pin is required to perform any kind of transaction with your wallet.

||| Please note that if you lose or forget your PIN, you will not be able to perform transactions on your wallet (e.g. access your funds or assets stored in your wallet, export your private keys, …)
